Resilience Sounds: Earth’s Melodies

Commission & Recording Project:
5 New Works for Violin

Resilience Sounds: Earth’s Melodies is an exploration of the relationship between music, the natural world, and the communities who inhabit it. This project focuses on highlighting how communities are seemingly torn apart, but also brought closer together through Earth’s natural rhythms — in both natural disaster and natural wonder. Featuring 5 new works for violin, Resilience Sounds aims to capture the strength found within the relationship between the environment and humankind.

This project was inspired by Grace’s familial background with forest conservation, wildlife preservation, and protection of the environment in Western Montana, USA.
She dedicates Resilience Sounds in loving memory of her mother, Barbara Wiltzen VanArsdell and her grandfather, Harris Wiltzen — lifetime stewards of the Montana forests and passionate supporters of the arts.
